Gia Phu promotes tree planting to green bare land, barren hills

The People's Committee of Gia Phu commune on September 13 launched a tree-planting campaign to green bare land and barren hills at the Ban Nhot Forest anti-French resistance historical site.

Organisations present financial support for tree planting in Gia Phu commune.

During this campaign, Gia Phu mobilised 7,000 Bat Do bamboo shoots to be distributed to 13 households in Hien Giang, Suoi Cay, Nhot 1, Nhot 2, and Na Mac hamlets. These households were also provided with fertilisers, technical guidance, and support in finding markets for their products. This is an important step toward developing Bat Do bamboo as a key commercial crop, linking economic development with ecological protection.

Leaders of Gia Phu commune participate in planting Bat Do bamboo.

In the near future, the communal People's Committee aims to plant an additional 10,000 Bat Do bamboo shoots, establishing a concentrated raw material area and creating sustainable livelihoods for local people.
