Huoi Mot commune Ethnic Culture and Sports Festival 2026 closes

After one day of vibrant activities, the Huoi Mot commune Ethnic Culture and Sports Festival 2026 concluded successfully, attracting thousands of local residents and visitors from within and outside the commune.

The closing ceremony and award presentation were attended by leaders of Huoi Mot commune, leaders of several neighbouring communes, representatives of agencies and enterprises operating in the locality, along with thousands of local people and visitors from both Huoi Mot and other communes.

The festival took place in a lively atmosphere with a wide range of activities that drew strong participation from residents and visitors, including art performances, ethnic costume showcases, traditional sticky rice cake pounding competitions, tug-of-war, stick pushing, traditional folk games, and open cultural performances.

Nearly 1,000 artisans, performers, and athletes from ethnic minority communities representing 27 hamlets across the commune took part in the festival. The Organising Committee held an art competition and selected outstanding performances for public shows on January 17. There were also showcases of traditional costumes of four ethnic groups - Mong, Thai, Xinh Mun, and Kho Mu, creating a joyful atmosphere rich in cultural identity.

In addition, the Organising Committee arranged booths displaying the commune’s typical and signature agricultural products, along with free food stalls and a “zero-dong” clothing stall with donations from local officials, civil servants, public employees, and workers of Huoi Mot commune.

The festival was a practical and meaningful activity of Huoi Mot commune, contributing to a vibrant emulation movement in celebration of the 14th National Party Congress and the elections of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026–2031 term. It fostered a joyful and united atmosphere among ethnic communities, honoured traditional cultural values, and raised awareness of preserving ethnic cultural heritage.

The Organising Committee awarded first, second, third, and consolation prizes to teams and athletes who achieved outstanding results in the competitions.
