International Day of Yoga 2025 takes place in Son La

The People’s Committee of Son La province, in collaboration with the Embassy of India in Vietnam, organised the International Day of Yoga 2025 under the theme “Yoga for One Earth, One Health” at Moc Chau Island Tourist Area – Bach Long Glass Bridge in Moc Chau township on June 14.

Attending the event were Dr. Monica Sharma, Director of the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre at the Indian Embassy; leaders of provincial department and agencies; officials from Moc Chau township; and over 200 members from yoga clubs based in Son La city and Moc Chau township.

Yoga is an ancient practice originating from India and has been recognised by the United Nations as a holistic approach to health and well-being. Promoting the benefits of practicing yoga contributes significantly to improving the health of people worldwide.

The International Yoga Day in Son La province will contribute to encouraging and motivating the practice of yoga and health training among the people. It also serves as a bridge to promote the beautiful nature and the friendly, hospitable people of Son La, bringing them closer to both domestic and international visitors. The event further strengthens the solidarity and friendship between the people of Vietnam and India.

Within the framework of the programme, a mass performance of the Common Yoga Protocol was held, featuring over 200 members from yoga clubs across Son La city and Moc Chau township.
