“March at the Border” volunteer programme held in Xuan Nha and Chieng Son communes

An overview of the programme.

At the programme, the units presented the “Lighting up the Border Road” project, consisting of 25 solar-powered lights; 30 gift packages to policy beneficiary families; 30 gifts to disadvantaged students with good academic performance; 27 “Supporting Students to School” scholarships; 2,000 doi tree seedlings and 500 chicks to two youth union member households in Xuan Nha commune. 

They also donated a “green library” of 500 books on disaster prevention and response knowledge to Xuan Nha Primary and Secondary School, and one water purifier to Tan Xuan Primary and Secondary School.

The programme also included activities such as the inauguration of the “Border Light” project, tree planting in Na Hieng hamlet, Xuan Nha commune; visits and gift-giving to three families with meritorious service to the revolution and to Tham Ton Border Post in Xuan Nha commune. In addition, a training workshop was organised on document drafting skills in advising on legal normative documents and administrative document formats for Party, government, and mass organisations in Xuan Nha commune.

The volunteer delegation also visited and presented gifts to officers and soldiers at the Northwest Training and Mobile Centre in Chieng Son commune; donated one water purifier, one television, various vegetable seeds, and 500 chicks to the unit. The total funding for the programme was 200 million VND (7,594 USD).

The programme is a meaningful activity, demonstrating the pioneering and volunteer spirit of youth from various agencies and units in contributing to socio-economic development, building new-style rural and civilised urban areas, and ensuring social welfare.
