Mid-Autumn Festival celebration held in Muong Khieng
The provincial youth and children activity centre, in coordination with the provincial children’s council, the Muong Khieng commune authorities, and partner organisations and individuals, held the 2026 Mid-Autumn Festival celebration themed “Lighting Up the Dreams of Son La Children,” at Muong Khieng 1 Secondary School on September 22. The event drew more than 1,000 students and parents from across the commune.

At the event, students enjoyed a joyful Mid-Autumn Festival atmosphere through various activities, including making 'to he' (toy figurines) and lanterns, playing traditional folk games, and competing in fruit-tray displays. The programme also featured school health check-ups and consultations, and provision of free medicines for 450 students, and free haircuts for more than 400 students.

The programme presented 1,000 gift packages and lanterns to students in the commune, along with 20 boxes of milk and 20 school bags to Muong Khieng Phong Lan Kindergarten, 10 bicycles to students, and a set of drums to Muong Khieng 1 Secondary School. On the occasion, the provincial Study Promotion Association awarded 30 scholarships, while BIDV Son La presented 10 scholarships to students facing difficult circumstances. The programme was worth more than 200 million VND (7,690 USD) in total.
