The exercise was conducted in two phases, with the first focusing on preparations for forest fire response and search and rescue, and the second involving practical drills in these efforts.
According to the hypothetical scenario, prolonged heat and strong winds at levels 4-5 caused a forest fire in the area of Gion hamlet. The fire spread rapidly, threatening nearby residential areas and adjacent production forests. During firefighting operations, several people were trapped and injured, requiring rescue and emergency assistance.
The participating forces were required to urgently mobilise personnel and equipment to contain the fire, evacuate local residents and their property, rescue trapped people, provide first aid to the injured and address the aftermath of the incident.
At the end of the exercise, the steering committee for commune-level defensive operations and civil defence exercises for the 2026-2030 period acknowledged the locality’s thorough preparations in terms of facilities and equipment.
Participants demonstrated a firm grasp of their respective functions and responsibilities and responded closely to the simulated scenarios. The field exercise was conducted in the correct sequence, closely reflecting real-life conditions, with close coordination among participating forces and absolute safety for personnel and equipment. The steering committee rated the exercise as Excellent.
