Muong Lam makes efforts to restore infrastructure, stabilise lives after natural disasters

In 2025, Muong Lam commune was among the localities in Son La province most severely affected by natural disasters, with total damage exceeding 80 billion VND (3.05 million USD).

Local authorities have focused on mobilising all available resources to overcome the consequences, quickly stabilise residential life, and restore production. To date, the commune has completed housing support for 89 affected households, with a total budget of 1.46 billion VND; and restored electricity supply to 17 hamlets and reestablished uninterrupted communications across the entire area. It has encouraged residents to replant 40 hectares of short-term crops, mainly maize, sweet potato, and peanut.

In addition, more than 325 tonnes of rice, 1.5 tonnes of rice seeds, and over 253 tonnes of salt have been distributed to 1,423 affected households, helping motivate local people to stabilise their lives as soon as possible.
