Programme brings Tet atmosphere to border areas

The Son La provincial Red Cross Society, in coordination with the People's Committee of Chieng Khoong commune and the Muong Cai Border Guard Station, on January 28 organised a programme named “Charitable Tet in border areas - Border guard spring warms the hearts of villagers 2026.”

Also accompanying the programme were the Binh Thuan Production, Business and Service Cooperative, the Son La Foodbank Club, the Ms. Ngoc Mai Red Cross Family (Thuong Tin, Hanoi), Techcombank, and the Son La College Youth Union.

At the event, a "zero-dong market" was organised with 10 stalls, providing essential goods to meet the needs of over 300 poor and near-poor households, households with difficult circumstances, and those affected by natural disasters in the commune. In addition, 300 national flags were donated to 10 hamlets and households in the locality.

Doctors from the Chieng Khoong commune Health Station provide health examinations for local residents.

The charity delegation also offered free medical examinations, health consultations, and medicine distribution for 300 people from impoverished households, the elderly, women, and children. The total value of the programme was 1.3 billion VND (49,875 USD).

The programme was a practical activity that provided material support and healthcare to people in border areas, demonstrating the role of the Son La provincial Red Cross Society in supporting vulnerable groups. It contributed to spreading humanitarian values, encouraging people to overcome difficulties and strive for a stable life, especially before the Lunar New Year.
