Provincial Red Cross Society provides support to flood-affected residents

A delegation from the provincial Red Cross Society on July 31 visited and provided assistance to residents affected by recent floods in Chieng So commune.

 

Provincial Red Cross Society leaders present gifts to households affected by the floods.

Due to the impact of Storm Wipha, Chieng So commune had 144 households suffering from house damage, with 16 homes completely collapsed. Tragically, three people lost their lives, and one person remains missing.

The provincial Red Cross Society delivered four cash gifts worth 2 million VND (76 USD) each to households with deceased or missing members, and 1 million VND to families with houses completely destroyed. As many as 109 packages of essential supplies (valued at 500,000 VND each) were distributed to affected residents. The total support value amounted to 77.5 million VND (2,958 USD).

The organisation hopes that this aid will help local people overcome hardship, recover from the disaster, and soon return to a stable life.
