The seminar was attended by Dr. Nguyen Tri Ngoc, Permanent Vice Chairman of the General Council of Agriculture and Rural Development Vietnam, alongside representatives from the Department of Agriculture and Environment, businesses and cooperatives engaged in agricultural production and processing.

Papers presented at the seminar proposed a range of solutions for Son La province’s agricultural development, with a focus on green transition and green production to curb carbon emissions, strengthen competitiveness, and generate higher added value for farm products, while integrating the sector more deeply into the global economy.
They also assessed the province’s potential for green agriculture development, highlighting priorities such as organic farming, the circular economy, low-carbon agriculture, digital transformation in farming, and agri-tourism.

The Department of Agriculture and Environment called on the council to continue supporting the development of the province’s agricultural strategy in the coming years. It also urged cooperatives to study research outcomes and apply organic production processes as part of the green transition to improve efficiency, enhance the value of agricultural products, and strengthen competitiveness.
The department stressed the need to comply with deforestation-free agricultural production regulations to meet international standards and support sustainable agricultural development.
