As a result of Storm No. 2, Muong La Team suffered extensive damage. A total of 501 rubber trees were broken, uprooted, or destroyed beyond recovery. Approximately 38.5 kilometres of roads within and between rubber plantations were eroded or hit by landslides, with many concrete sections severely damaged and around 200 metres of bridges and culverts washed away.
Two workers' houses had to be urgently evacuated due to landslides, while five field shelters were completely destroyed. Around 100 worker households had more than 8.3 hectares of rice fields, crops, fish ponds, and other property damaged. Flooding also prevented workers from carrying out latex tapping as scheduled, resulting in a reduction of 152.85 tonnes of dry rubber output. Total losses are estimated at nearly 12.8 billion VND (486,415 USD).
During the visit, the Vietnam Rubber Trade Union presented 100 million VND to Son La Rubber JSC to promptly support and encourage employees affected by the storms and flooding.
