At the ceremony announcing the State President’s decision on amnesty in 2026 at the provincial Department of Public Security’s detention centre.

According to Decision No. 751/QĐ-CTN dated May 26, 2026, the State President granted amnesty to 9,950 inmates serving prison sentences who met the eligibility requirements for amnesty in 2026. Among them, 18 inmates at the Son La Department of Public Security’s detention centre were granted amnesty for their good compliance with prison regulations and positive progress in rehabilitation.

Speaking at the ceremony, Colonel Le Duc Trung, Deputy Director of the department, encouraged the amnestied individuals to quickly reintegrate into their families and communities, stabilise their lives, strictly comply with the Party’s guidelines and policies as well as the laws of the State, earn an honest living, and strive to become useful citizens.

He also called on local Party committees, authorities, agencies, organisations, and families of those granted amnesty to welcome them back, provide support and favourable conditions for their reintegration into society, and help them secure employment and income so that they can achieve stable and sustainable lives.
