Police forces and vehicles take part in the launch ceremony.

Under the plan, Son La police will step up communications and legal education on traffic safety. The provincial traffic police unit and relevant forces will intensify patrols and checks across roads and inland waterways.

Forces will be deployed to maintain public order, regulate traffic and prevent congestion at bus stations and venues hosting celebrations for the 80th anniversary of National Day on September 2 and the start of the new school year. Patrols will also cover areas around schools, with strict action against student traffic violations and unsafe vehicles transporting students.

The campaign runs through October 31.

Provincial People’s Committee and police leaders meet with local police officers and soldiers.

Speaking at the ceremony, Cong called on Son La police to make thorough preparations in manpower and equipment to ensure the campaign’s effectiveness. He urged stronger public communications on traffic laws to raise awareness among parents and students, tighter patrols and handling of violations, as well as traffic regulation to maintain order during the National Day holiday, the new school year opening, and upcoming major political events in the province.

Forces and vehicles parade along major streets.

Right after the ceremony, forces and vehicles paraded through streets in Chieng Sinh, Chieng Coi and To Hieu wards.
