Work underway to complete Route 1A, Tay Bac Square flower garden before October 10

To Hieu ward is accelerating a project to complete Route 1A and the Tay Bac (Northwest) Square flower garden (from Trang Bridge to Route 1A), with a focus on site clearance to pave the way for subsequent construction works.

The project area (circled in red) is undergoing site clearance by To Hieu ward.

The project was approved by the provincial People’s Committee under Decision No. 1714 dated August 21, 2024. It involves the recovery of about 4,660 sq.m of land and affects 54 households and individuals.

To date, the competent authorities have approved compensation and support plans for 54 households and one organisation, covering 3,344.9 sq.m and totaling more than 141 billion VND (5.39 million USD). A total of 135.13 billion VND has been paid to 48 of the 54 households. So far, 45 of the 54 houses have been demolished.

To Hieu ward is urging the remaining households to relocate their belongings, dismantle structures and hand over the cleared sites.

To ensure the project schedule, the ward has completed the required investment procedures, including appraisal and approval of the design, contractor selection plan and bidding to select the construction contractor. It has also launched a 100-day campaign to complete the project.

The ward is coordinating closely with relevant agencies and mobilising human and material resources to accelerate implementation, aiming to complete the project and make it ready for handover, inauguration and operation before October 10. The project is expected to mark the 131st founding anniversary of Son La province and the second Son La Coffee Festival 2026./.
