Chieng Ngan coffee farmers get fertiliser support

The provincial Farmers Support Centre on April 23 delivered 13 tonnes of biological and organic fertilisers, along with over 10 liters of foliar bio-fertiliser, to 10 farming households in Ka Lap hamlet, Chieng Ngan commune, Son La city.

Provincial Farmers’ Union leaders hand over the fertiliser to local farmers in Ka Lap hamlet, Chieng Ngan commune.

These are households participating in a coffee intensive cultivation and rehabilitation model launched in April 2024. The model involves 10 farmers cultivating a total of 6 hectares of coffee. Through this initiative, the participating households are applying science and technology in production, enhancing value chain linkages, and practicing organic and safe agricultural production methods in accordance with VietGAP and GlobalGAP standards. The goal is to meet export requirements and food safety standards, contributing to the promotion of safe and sustainable agriculture linked with product consumption.

Farmer households receive and transport fertilisers for the intensive coffee cultivation and rehabilitation.

In the coming time, the provincial Farmers’ Union will continue organising training courses and transferring organic coffee cultivation techniques, and guiding farmers on the proper use of fertilisers and plant protection products to improve the quality of Son La coffee.
