At the conference summarising the breeding pig farming model applying biosecurity measures in Chieng Den commune.
The model was launched in 2022 in Nong Lo and Tam hamlets, with the participation of 25 farming households raising a total of 134 breeding sows (each household raising 5 to 7 sows). Participants have received training on pig breeding techniques and applied biosecurity measures. They have been also supported with breeding stock and farming materials under the guidance and supervision of the Farmers' Unions at all levels and the local authorities.
After more than three years of implementation, the model has expanded to include 25 more households, bringing the total to 50. According to evaluations, the breeding sows have developed well. Each has given 2–3 litters per year, with each litter consisting of 8–10 piglets. The total pig population has now exceeded 2,500, with an average selling price of 1.2 million VND ($46) each. The average annual income per household, after deducting expenses, ranges from 65–70 million VND.

Delegates visit the breeding pig farming model at the household of Quang Van Muon, a Farmers' Union member in Trung Tam hamlet, Chieng Den commune.
This model has delivered positive economic results for the participating farmers, created jobs, increased household incomes, and contributed to poverty reduction and sustainable livelihood development.
