Attending the event from Son La province were Ha Trung Chien, member of the provincial Party Committee's Standing Board and Standing Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee; leaders of provincial departments and agencies; and a large number of armed forces personnel, youth union members, students, and local residents. The meeting was also connected online to 71 communes and wards across the province.
This is the second consecutive year that the event has been held simultaneously nationwide, aiming to spread anti-drug messages through sports activities.
Drugs pose a serious threat to the sustainable development of every nation and people. They are a major cause of various crimes and social misconduct, directly affecting individuals’ health and future, families’ well-being, and the peace and security of communities.
As a mountainous border province bordering Laos, Son La has consistently identified drug prevention and control as a key, regular, and long-term task.
Immediately after the rally, the mass running event was launched simultaneously in Hanoi and localities nationwide. At Tay Bac (Northwest) Square, the race attracted more than 1,500 participants, including armed forces, youth union members, students, and local residents. At the same time, each commune and ward mobilised over 500 people to join the run in their respective localities, creating a vibrant atmosphere and strongly promoting the spirit of collective action toward building drug-free communes and wards.
