Co Ma Highland Market opens for National Day holiday

The 2026 Co Ma Highland Market opened on September 1 in Co Ma commune, attracting local officials, residents and visitors.

The two-day market features a range of cultural, artistic and ethnic sports activities, as well as traditional folk games such as tug of war and tu lu (spinning tops), khen flute performances, banh day (round glutinous rice cake) pounding, pa pao singing and volleyball matches.

Visitors to this year's market can explore and purchase agricultural products, local specialties, One Commune One Product (OCOP) goods and distinctive products made by highland communities. These include son tra fruit, taro, cucumber, pineapple, corn wine and black chickens produced and processed by ethnic minority residents in the highland communes.

The market also offers traditional ethnic dishes, along with stalls selling brocade products, traditional costumes and household goods. Visitors can take part in cultural, artistic and sporting activities and experience traditional folk games.

The Co Ma Highland Market is an annual event held around the National Day (September 2). It aims to promote the image, people and distinctive cultural values of the highland communities in Co Ma, while providing a venue for cultural, sporting, commercial and tourism exchanges.

The market also helps connect local agricultural products and specialties with visitors and consumers, contributing to local socio-economic development and improving residents' material and spiritual well-being./.
