Highland streets come alive with community cultural performances

Community cultural performances took place on September 1 as part of the Moc Chau Culture and Tourism Week 2026, bringing traditional ethnic music, dance and costumes to streets across the highland region.

More than 200 artisans and amateur performers from Moc Chau, Moc Son, Thao Nguyen and Van Son wards took part in the event. Divided into two delegations, they paraded through the streets and performed traditional Thai xoe dances, Mong khen, tha kenh  and bell dances, showcasing the cultural traditions of the Mong, Dao, Thai and Xinh Mun ethnic groups.

Performances for residents and visitors were held at several locations along National Highway 6, the courtyard of the Moc Son ward People's Committee, small parks in residential groups 3 and 7 in Moc Son ward, and September 8 Square in Moc Chau ward.

The street performances have become a distinctive feature of the cultural festival on the Moc Chau plateau. Showcasing the diverse cultural colours of local ethnic communities, the activities created a lively atmosphere and attracted residents and visitors to join cultural exchanges and experiences.

The event also helped strengthen solidarity among ethnic communities and promote their distinctive cultural heritage to audiences across Vietnam and abroad./.
