7th provincial Defence and Security Education Festival for high school students wraps up

The 7th provincial Defence and Security Education Festival for high school students for the 2024-2025 academic year concluded on March 27, at Regiment 754.

During the festival, jointly held by the Department of Education and Training and the Military Command of Son La province from March 24-26, nearly 380 contestants took part in theory and practice tests on the technical squad for emergency and transportation of injured patients; disassembling and assembling AK submachine guns; grenade use techniques; 800m run carrying AK submachine guns; basic postures and movements when moving in combat.

According to the organising board, the theory test was conducted seriously, with 88% of students meeting the requirements, while the practice test took place in absolute safety, with high professional quality, with 100% mastering and practicing combat techniques proficiently.

As a result, the organising board awarded the first prize of the high school group to the provincial Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities; the district boarding school for ethnic minorities group to the Mai Son Secondary and High School for Ethnic Minorities, along with three second and six third prizes. In addition, 45 collective prizes and 135 individual prizes were also presented.

The festival took place successfully, ensuring safety and security and fulfilling the set goals and requirements. It aimed to improve the quality of learning and teaching the subject of national defence and security in the current general education programme; and equip high school students with basic military skills.
