Bridge connecting Chieng Phung commune’s poor hamlets inaugurated

The volunteer club of the Son La High School for the Gifted, in collaboration with the People's Committee of Chieng Phung commune, Song Ma district, on December 24 held an inauguration ceremony for a bridge connecting Pin and Chieng Vang hamlets to the commune centre. The ceremony took place at Son Ca Kindergarten in Chieng Phung commune.

The steel bridge, 25m long and 1.5m wide, was constructed at a total cost of 320 million VND (12,578 USD), mobilised from sponsors in and outside the province through the 11th graders in History and Geography and the volunteer club of the Son La High School for the Gifted. Residents from Pin and Chieng Vang hamlets also contributed building materials. After more than 10 days of construction, the project was completed and put into use, facilitating travel and goods transportation, thereby contributing to the local socio-economic development.

Impoverished households in Chieng Phung commune receive rice seeds.

On this occasion, the delegation provided 64 portions of rice seeds, each valued at 200,000 VND, to impoverished households. They also distributed 65 gift packages containing essential supplies and learning tools, each worth 250,000 VND, to underprivileged children at Son Ca Kindergarten. Additionally, the delegation and the Women’s Union of Chieng Phung commune presented a special gift package, including two goats, essential supplies, and learning tools, to an orphan. The total value was nearly 35 million VND.
