“Can Tho youth with people in Son La’s mountainous areas” journey leaves good impressions

The Son La provincial Youth Union, in collaboration with the Can Tho city Youth Union, is organising the “Can Tho youth with people in Son La’s mountainous areas” journey from December 7-10 in Chieng Khay commune, Quynh Nhai district, in response to the Volunteer Programmes for Winter 2024 and Spring 2025.

Participating in the journey are the youth unions of the Can Tho municipal Department of Health and the Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy. They have presented Chieng Khay people with 10 tonnes of rice; 1,000 units of medicine; 40 solar light bulbs to light up rural roads with a length of over 2 km in Long O hamlet; 300 warm clothes to local students; and five bookcases to Hoa Dao Kindergarten. The total value mobilised for the journey is over 1.07 billion VND (42,225 USD).

This is a meaningful activity to promote the pioneering role, volunteering for community life and the spirit of "mutual love" of officials, youth union members, and youths of units and localities, thus helping children and people in especially difficult areas, contributing to the goal of sustainable poverty reduction and ensuring social security.
