Over 300,000 students in Son La back to school for 2023-2024 academic year

More than 300,000 students from the first to 12th grades across Son La province returned to school on August 28 for the 2023-2024 academic year.

Local schools organised various meaningful activities on the day, including those for first, sixth and 10th graders who have just embarked on a new level. The students visited functional rooms, canteens and dormitories. Homeroom teachers popularised school rules, and teaching and learning plans, and held art rehearsals in preparation for the new school year opening ceremony. Some schools gave main lessons right on the day.

Local schools will kick off the 2023-2024 academic year on September 5. The provincial Department of Education and Training has instructed them to review and complete facility upgrading, and conduct cleanup in anticipation of the new school year. 

Boarding high schools for ethnic minority students and semi-boarding schools have been asked to publicise financial and asset management processes, as well as living conditions of students in line with legal regulations as well as instructions and guidelines of the department.
