At the ceremony, officials, civil servants, public employees, and workers donated nearly 60 million VND (2,370 USD), which was then transferred to the city’s Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee to assist households affected by the recent floods.
According to preliminary statistics, due to the impact of storm Prapiroon, the city has nearly 1,000 houses hit by landslides and flooding; over 525 hectares of crops and 54 hectares of aquatic farms damaged, over 5,840 livestock and poultry heads were killed or swept away; and many areas were severely eroded, with total damage of more than 98 billion VND.
The city relief mobilisation board called on officials, civil servants, public employees, workers, armed forces and people; as well as agencies, units, organisations, and businesses to share and help households affected by the recent storm and floods, thus helping them quickly restore production and stabilise their lives.
All contributions and support from organisations and individuals in cash should be sent to the board via the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Son La city; bank account: 3571.0.1038986 at the State Treasury’s branch in Son La province.
Meanwhile, goods and necessities should be sent directly to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Son La city on the 4th floor, the headquarters of the city Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and other units, at No. 89, Le Thai Tong street, Son La city.
