Song Ma plants over 12,000 scattered trees in first half

Song Ma district planted more than 12,000 scattered trees in the first half of 2024.

Local forest rangers popularise forest protection among people in Nam Man commune, Song Ma district.

Song Ma district now has 74,066 hectares of forestry land, including 62,079 hectares for natural forests, 2,027 hectares for planted forests, and the remainder for perennial crops and forestry land without forest.

Since the beginning of the year, the district forest ranger unit has increased coordination with agencies, units, and communal authorities to promote popularisation of forest management and protection, fire prevention and fighting, associated with the implementation of programmes and projects for sustainable forestry development.

In the first half, the unit held 75 conferences in communes and hamlets to disseminate laws on forest protection and development and fire prevention and fighting, attracting nearly 4,000 participants. It also organised the signing of protection and fire prevention commitments between households, individuals and hamlet management boards.
