Three projects in Son La win prize at "Women’s Startup" Contest in northern region

Three projects in Son La province have won prizes at the 2023 "Women’s Startup" Contest in the northern region.

Of which, the project combining modern technology and traditional experience to produce green fashion products for export on the basis of using rare indigenous plant genetic resources of Vietnam (the raw material area in Son La’s Yen Chau district) grabbed the first prize.

Meanwhile, the project developing poultry farming and agricultural services of EFARM É Tong Ecological Agricultural Cooperative in Thuan Chau district; and the project to develop and replicate the specialty coffee processing model of the ARATAY Coffee Cooperative in Mai Son district won the consolation prizes.

The final round of the 2023 "Women’s Startup" Contest in the northern region took place on September 8 in Nam Dinh province.

The contest was launched by the Vietnam Women's Union Central Committee in March under the theme "Women start a business, promote indigenous resources". The final round saw the competition of 32 excellent projects and startup ideas from women union members from 18 northern provinces and cities.

Phan Minh Nguyet from Son La province (second, left) receives the first prize.

The Organizing Committee awarded one special, three first, five second, seven third and 16 consolation prizes to the most outstanding startup ideas and projects.

Those winning the third prize or higher will be selected by the Organizing Committee to participate in the final round of the 2023 National "Women's Startup" Contest, slated for October.
