Tong Lanh commune’s Village 3 recognised as model new style rural area

Tong Lanh commune in Thuan Chau district held a ceremony on November 16 to announce the recognition of Village 3 as a model new-style rural area in 2024.

Village 3, home to 160 households, is situated along National Highway 6, just 1.5 kilometers from Tong Lanh commune’s centre. The recognition comes thanks to concerted efforts by local authorities and residents in improving rural living conditions.

To date, all of the village's main roads have been cemented, and the community hall and other public facilities have been upgraded. Every household has access to safe and reliable electricity as well as clean water. Over 70% of households are engaged in business and service activities, while 92.73% of residents participate in health insurance. The average annual income has reached nearly 56 million VND (2,205 USD) per person. The village no longer has temporary or dilapidated houses, and more than 80% of families have earned the “family of culture” status for three consecutive years.

Village 3 has fulfilled 16 criteria and 44 indicators for new-style rural areas, along with five criteria for model new-style rural areas, in accordance with the standards set by the province for 2022-2025.

Tong Lanh commune’s Village 3 is recognised as a model new-style rural area.
