Van Ho district responds to Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day
The provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism coordinated with the People's Committee of Van Ho district to organise a programme in response to Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day (April 21) and World Book and Copyright Day (April 23), and launch the 2024 lifelong learning week, at the Van Ho Secondary School on April 12.
The “Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day” programme is held at the Van Ho Secondary School.
The programme attracted more than 1,000 teachers and students from schools in Van Ho district, who engaged in culture and art exchanges, and a book arrangement competition, and the "Ring the Golden Bell" contest. It also featured a display of books, and the “library on wheels” model.

Up to 400 book titles were displayed and introduced on this occasion, including those on Uncle Ho, and history, culture and comic books.

More than 19,000 ninth-grade students across Son La province on June 1 completed their Literature test, the first in the high school entrance examination for the 2026–2027 academic year. This year, the province has established 44 examination venues with a total of 817 rooms.

The digital economy is gradually becoming an important driver of growth, market expansion, and enhanced competitiveness of the economy. In Son La province, a range of initiatives have been implemented, from bringing agricultural products onto e-commerce platforms and conducting livestream sales to promoting cashless payment methods. These efforts have generated positive momentum in production, business, and consumer activities.

The Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of the provincial Party Agencies Bloc held its first Congress for the 2025–2030 term on May 29. Vice Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Dinh Viet on May 26 chaired a meeting on projects using land funds to generate capital for infrastructure development in Son La province.
Quynh Nhai has long been recognised as the province’s largest hub for cage fish farming. Beyond aquaculture and natural fishing, the locality is shifting towards processing and brand development to enhance the economic value of aquatic products, boost incomes and ensure sustainable livelihoods for local communities.
