Vietnam Youth Federation of Mai Son district convenes sixth congress

The Vietnam Youth Federation of Mai Son district on July 15-16 convened its sixth congress for the 2024-2029 term.

The congress gathered leaders of Mai Son district, the Vietnam Youth Federation of Son La province, and 135 delegates representing more than 10,000 youths across the province.

In the past term, the district federation’s activities and youth movements in the locality have been diversified, matching the needs of young people and local conditions.

Its activities, programmes, and movements have been implemented effectively and practically, with 115 journeys, including the “I love my country” journey at district and grassroots levels, attracting 12,000 youngsters; an online contest on the 70th anniversary of the Liberation Day of Mai Son district (August 10, 1953 - 2023) with the participation of more than 6,000 people; and support for 38 startup models in agriculture to seek markets.

Teams of young volunteers were deployed during the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. At the same time, the district federation has provided free medicines, and presented gifts to disadvantaged children and families of war invalids and martyrs. It has also coordinated with units and donors in building 15 district-level facilities with total funding of over 5.2 billion VND (204,885 USD), and 63 others at the grassroots level valued at over 627 million VND. Local young people have received support to access loans worth more than 200 billion VND from the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies.

With the slogan "Mai Son Youth: United - Pioneering - Creative- Developing,” for the 2024-2029 tenure, the district federation will strive for all officials and youths to thoroughly grasp, study and follow President Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style, as well as resolutions of the Party, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the Vietnam Youth Federation at all levels.

It will join efforts to support at least five innovative startup projects of young people, provide career advice and vocational training, and jobs for at least 500 youngsters, and maintain 22 community digital transformation teams. It aims to introduce over 500 outstanding young people to the youth union, and over 100 others to the Party each year. Twenty-five members of the district Vietnam Youth Federation Committee for the sixth tenure and delegates take a group photo.  Delegates vote to approve the congress resolution.

After negotiations, the congress elected 25 members of the district Vietnam Youth Federation Committee for the sixth tenure, and 13 official and two alternate delegates to the sixth congress of the Vietnam Youth Federation of Son La province for 2024-2029.
