Yen Chau youths work towards solidarity, aspiration, innovation, development

The Vietnam Youth Federation (VYF) of Yen Chau district organised its 6th congress for the 2024-2029 term on June 2-3, drawing the participation of 120 delegates representing more than 40,000 young people of all ethnic groups in the district.

In the past term, the district federation effectively implemented movements launched by VYF at all levels, drawing a large number of young people.

The federation organised 38 "I love my Fatherland" journeys at district and grassroots levels, with the participation of 10,000 young people; presented over 5,000 welfare gifts; held five seminars "Youth role models in the integration period", and four forums "Youth leading a beautiful life", drawing the attendance of nearly 5,000 young people. Fifty outstanding youths in the fields of study, labour and production were commended. Activities of 26 youth start-up models and 15 clubs have been maintained.

It implemented 17 youth projects with a total value of nearly 3.1 billion VND ($121,807). The grassroots federations had 152 projects totalling over 420 million VND. Every year, the organsation launches campaigns to respond to the Youth Month, the Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign, and "Winter Volunteer" and "Spring Volunteer" programmes. Local youths also participated in building 20.5 km of new roads; repaired and cleaned 92.8 km of rural roads, 80 km of canals and 82 cultural houses; building 10 projects to bring light to hamlets; maintaining the operation of 15 model roads in communes meeting new-style rural area standards, associated with environmental protection activities.

With the slogan "Yen Chau youth unite, aspire, innovate, develop", in the 2024-2029 term, the district federation strives to have all officials and members thoroughly grasping the resolutions of the Party, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the Vietnam Youth Federation, and 90% young people being informed about them; support at least three start-up projects for young people; and introduce jobs to 600 or more young people. It will maintain 15 community-based digital transformation teams, two youth clubs/teams/groups operating effectively in different fields; build five youth projects and works and five models of young people doing effective business; and admit 100-200 members, and introduce at least 200 outstanding young people to the Youth Union and 10 outstanding ones to the Party each year.

The congress selected 24 members of the Vietnam Youth Federation of Yen Chau district in the sixth tenure; 15 official delegates and two alternate delegates to attend the 6th congress of the Vietnam Youth Federation of Son La province for the 2024-2029 term.

The Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee awarded the "For the Young Generation" insignia to four individuals. The provincial Vietnam Youth Federation Committee presented the certificates of merit to three collectives and five individuals. The Yen Chau district People's Committee granted its certificates of merit to five collectives and nine individuals, while the Vietnam Youth Federation of Yen Chau district awarded its certificates of merit to 16 collectives and 20 individuals.
