The border trip was jointly organised by the youth unions of Son La province, the Commission for Internal Affairs and the Commission for Economic Affairs under the Party Central Committee, the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group, the Vietnam National Petroleum Group and the Vietnam Southern Food Corporation. 

On this occasion, the youth unions of Son La and the Commission for International Affairs, and other organisations presented five "charity houses" worth a total of 250 million VND (10,650 USD) to local households in difficult circumstances, along with 20 gift packages to underprivileged students, each worth 1 million VND (42.6 USD). They also donated two youth works valued at 20 million VND (852 USD) in total.
