In the autumn weather, the mountains and forests of Son La highlands are covered with silvery mists and a characteristic cold. On the mountain slopes or at the beginning and end of hamlets, peach blossoms have bloomed. Golden rice terraced fields are in harvest season. The images of peaceful highland hamlets are becoming more and more visible.

To celebrate Vietnamese Teachers' Day (November 20), the provincial Cinema and Culture Center coordinated with the Division of Education and Training of Son La city to organize an art programme themed "Glory of Vietnamese teachers" on the evening of November 12.

Danisa Vietnam on November 9 coordinated with Tien Phong (Vanguard) Newspaper and the Son La provincial Youth Union to present gifts to teachers in difficult circumstances in Phu Yen district.

Quynh Nhai district has recently opened two La Ha ethnic language classes in the form of oral transmission for more than 100 La Ha ethnic minorities in Muong Sai and Nam Et communes.

Over the past years, the Employment Service Centre under the provincial Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs has helped many rural labourers get jobs, and served as a reliable address for agencies and businesses that seek employees both inside and outside the province.

The Son La provincial Department of Natural Resources and Environment on November 2 organised a workshop to improve climate change response capacity for 100 delegates who are leaders and officials from departments, divisions, and socio-political organisations, desks of natural resources and environment; and leaders of communal People's Committees, commune-level environmental cadastral civil servants of Moc Chau and Van Ho districts.

The Women's Union of Bac Yen district on November 2 organised a training conference on the implementation of the community-based communications model for communal officials and communications workers.

Last month, health facilities in Son La province offered medical examination, treatment, and emergency care effectively while focusing on improving the quality of services.

Responding to the "For the Poor" peak month in 2023, as of October 27, the Standing Board of the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee (VFF Son La) had received more than 7.7 billion VND (313,420 USD) from agencies, units, businesses and philanthropists for the provincial "For the Poor" Fund.

The Hanoi-based charity group of Hanbin - Ngo Ngoc Hung fans organized a charity programme entitled "Singing on the hillside", giving gifts to students of the Ngoc Chien Primary School in Muong La district.

Village 2 in Tong Lanh commune, Thuan Chau district, impresses visitors with spacious houses, concrete roads, and bustling grocery stores. All villagers are excited and proud as the village has transformed from a poor locality to a new-style rural area, also the first model new rural area in Thuan Chau.

The Son La provincial Youth Union coordinated with the Thuan Chau district People's Committee in organizing a job fair in the district on October 28 to introduce job opportunities to ethnic minority youth.

Thuan Chau district has instructed relevant agencies, communes and townships to well carry out social welfare policies since the beginning of this year.
