Last year, Moc Chau district met 175 new-style rural area criteria, or 13.46 criteria per commune, with Na Muong commune recognised as a new-style rural area. It also invested in building 24km of electricity lines to light up rural roads and alleys. Moc Chau also directed the concerted implementation of urban development tasks, completing 56 out of 63 tier-4 urban area criteria. The poverty rate dropped to 3.47%, 0.52% higher than the plan, and 100% of makeshift houses were removed.

In 2023, Moc Chau was also honoured as Asia’ Leading Regional Natural Destination and Vietnam’s Leading Regional Natural Destination. It welcomed nearly 2.5 million tourists, and earned social revenue of 2.8 trillion VND (113.4 million USD). Political security was stabilised, and social order and safety ensured. External relations activities were promoted and expanded, and the Party and political system building received due attention.

Leaders of the district Party Committee praised 77 collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in emulation movements, and launched the 2024 emulation movements, striving to successfully fulfill the targets set by the 22th district Party Congress for the 2020-2025 tenure, especially those of turning the district into a township, and being recognised as a national tourist site by 2025.
