Son La athlete wins 3 medals at National Youth Weightlifting Championship 2025

The Department of Sports and Physical Training and the Vietnam Bodybuilding and Weightlifting Federation, in collaboration with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Lao Cai province, organised the National Youth Weightlifting Championship 2025 in Lao Cai from June 1-8.

The tournament drew the participation of over 200 athletes from 30 provinces and cities across the country. Representing Son La, athlete Tong Thi Ly delivered an outstanding performance, winning one gold in the snatch category with a result of 95 kg, one silver in the clean and jerk with 113 kg, and one silver for the total lift of 208 kg.

This annual championship aims to discover new talent for future training and development, with the goal of supplementing the national team in preparation for regional and international competitions. With her impressive achievements, Tong Thi Ly has been called up to join the national youth weightlifting team for upcoming tournaments.
