Son La aims to plant over 2,000 ha of forests, 10,000 scattered trees in 2024

Son La province strives to plant 2,023 hectares of concentrated forests and 1.28 million scattered trees this year, increasing its forest coverage to 48%.

The Sop Cop special-use forest management board’s staff checks the quality of seedlings at the nursery.

Since the beginning of the year, the provincial Forest Protection Sub-department has advised the provincial People's Committee to direct relevant agencies and localities to focus on implementing the forest development plans for 2024.

It has directed affiliated units to urge project units to sow, care for, and ensure a sufficient number of seedlings for forest and scattered tree planting.

During the recent spring period alone, the whole province planted 10,233 scattered trees.
