To enhance value and establish the quality of agricultural products in both domestic and international markets, Son La province has stepped up the development of safe agricultural and aquatic product supply chains. It has adopted advanced technologies in production, created new supply chains, and controlled product quality at every stage, aiming for a green growth agricultural model.
Son La province boasts 885 agricultural cooperatives, alongside six agricultural cooperative alliances comprising 30 member cooperatives and over 600 labourers.
In 2024, the financial market in Son La province has remained stable, with credit institutions strictly adhering to regulations and directions from the State Bank of Vietnam on interest rates. These institutions have been committed to maintaining safe and effective credit growth, applying reasonable lending rates, and minimising non-performing loans.
Since the beginning of this year, Son La province has sold over 348,650 tonnes of various types of fruit, reaching 93% of the total production, with a value of over 5.31 trillion VND (209 million USD).
Son La province currently has 29 agricultural products granted protection certificates; including three geographical indications, 23 certification trademarks, and three collective trademarks.
Son La province currently has 154 OCOP (one commune one product) items rated 3-star or higher, imcluding 97 3-star, 56 4-star, and one national 5-star.
The Women's Union of Son La province, in collaboration with the management board of the Gender Responsive Equitable Agriculture and Tourism (GREAT) project, is organising a training course themed "Business Acceleration" for 33 women’s union members in Son La province from November 29 to December 1.
