Following the digital transformation trend, Son La Post has made significant efforts to integrate information technology (IT) into management and operations, enhancing productivity, improving service quality, and better meeting customer needs.

Phung The Hung, Director of Son La Post, said that digital transformation is a driving force for business development. The organization has focused on mobilizing resources for upgrading infrastructure, and synchronizing its management system with software and IT applications from the parent company. Regular reviews and restructuring of the organizational model have helped streamline operations and improve the quality and effectiveness of services provided.

Previously, postal workers had to perform many manual steps and spend considerable time reconciling orders. Now, the process has become much faster and more efficient with the use of barcode scanners and supporting software systems. Orders are processed quickly and accurately, with all relevant information available, and customer communication is seamlessly integrated into the system.

Ha Quang Huy, a staff member at Son La Post’s Delivery Processing Center, shared: "By simply scanning the barcode of an order, we instantly get the details, including the sender's and recipient's phone numbers. This allows us to contact customers directly through the system, making order processing much quicker and more convenient."

To enhance service quality, Son La Post is currently implementing nearly 30 IT systems, software and applications, focusing on key processes such as acceptance, tracking, and delivery; customer service; and checking and payment. One of the standout projects is the modernization of the Vietnam Postal IT system, which has been rolled out nationwide. This project connects and synchronizes with smart devices and handheld equipment, creating a complete ecosystem within the service delivery cycle. Key components include PostID for electronic identity verification, Vpostcode for digital service points and digital addresses, the My VietnamPost app, the Buudien.vn e-commerce platform, and delivery software for postal workers. As a result, management at Son La Post has become faster and more accurate, especially in package delivery and customer service.

Additionally, Son La Post has launched multi-service postal counters at post offices and cultural post offices in rural communes, offering a wide range of services to meet customer needs. With this system, customers can access various services such as postal delivery, financial services, public administration, bill payments, and even banking services like loan disbursements and money transfers.

The implementation of digital transformation in production organization not only helps Son La Post enhance its business efficiency and service quality but also contributes significantly to the development of the digital economy in the province.

The company is actively updating the V-map digital map data, connecting and coordinating the delivery of public administration services, collecting information on agricultural production households to support the development of the digital economy in agriculture and rural areas. It has also promoted agricultural products on the Buudien.vn e-commerce platform, and applied software in management and production.

To date, Son La Post has worked with local departments, agencies, districts and Son La city to list 191 products on the Buudien.vn platform, resulting in nearly 8,000 transactions and a total value of over 400 million VND (15,700 USD).

With the "customer-centered" motto, Son La Post continues to innovate and build a digital product and service ecosystem, enhancing its competitiveness and service quality to meet the growing demands of its customers.
