Thuan Chau Trail Run 2025 takes place

The Thuan Chau Trail Run 2025 took place under the theme “Footprints of Khau Tu” in Thuan Chau commune on August 17. The event was held to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 – 2025) and the National Day (September 2, 1945 – 2025).

The race attracted over 200 runners from seven clubs, including Thuan Chau Runners, R26, TBU Runners, Moc Chau Running Club, and other clubs across Son La province.

Runners tackle the first steep sections of the course.

The event kicked off at 5:30 a.m. with the starting line set at the local stadium. The runners officially began their challenging 15-kilometer journey, which combined flat roads, uphill climbs, and forest trails, demanding strong endurance and mountain running skills.

Runners passed through lush green rice fields and traditional village paths. They then tackled more rugged terrain, including bamboo forests and coffee hills.

The course continued with a climb up Ban Cang hill, passing through stilt houses of the Black Thai ethnic community. The highlight of the race was reaching the Viba station atop Khau Tu peak at 1,700 meters above sea level, offering athletes a truly unique and breathtaking experience. After conquering this station, runners continued through Cu Cang hamlet, known for its signature taro crop.

Finally, participants ascended Khau Tu 2 peak before returning to the original starting point. The race was conducted safely and successfully, achieving its intended goals.

At the closing ceremony, the Organising Committee presented first, second, and third prizes for both male and female categories. Awards were also given to the top 15 and top 25 finishers in each gender category, as well as commemorative medals for all finishers and a special prize for the oldest participant.

More than just a sporting event, the Thuan Chau Trail Run 2025 offered an opportunity to tighten solidarity and improve health following President Ho Chi Minh’s example. It also played an important role in promoting the natural beauty and cultural richness of Thuan Chau to friends from near and far.
