Since 2021, the district has supported over 1,000 households with high-quality plant varieties, including GL4 Taiwan mango, Tam Hoa plum, red-fleshed jackfruit, Queen pineapple, pomelo, and pear, with a total funding of more than 4.5 billion VND (179,425 USD). Nearly 460 million VND has been allocated to implement a model for improving local jujube orchards in Muong Bu commune. As many as 109 households have been supported in an organic glutinous rice model in Ngoc Chien commune, covering 24 hectares of rice fields. Mango orchards have been rehabilitated and cared for in an organic manner in Ta Bu and Chieng Hoa communes. Additionally, cold storage and drying houses have been provided for seven production households, along with the development of seven safe agricultural and forestry supply chains. The district has also funded the creation of logos, labels, and product packaging, with a total cost of over 2.1 billion VND (83,732 USD).

Nguyen Dinh Huong, Chairman of Hung Thinh Cooperative in Muong Bu, shared, "With support from the district to improve our jujube orchards and apply green agricultural practices, the cooperative now has 50 hectares of jujubes meeting VietGAP standards. The apple yield reaches 15 tonnes per hectare, with prices ranging from 15,000 to 50,000 VND per kilogramme. Thanks to superior quality, our cooperative provides about one tonne of jujubes daily to supermarket chains and clean fruit stores both inside and outside the province."

Thanks to the determined leadership of local authorities and the hard work of the people, Muong La has maintained 11,246 hectares of cereal crops, 779 hectares of vegetables, and 143.5 hectares of raw materials for processing at the Doveco Son La factory. The district also has nearly 7,150 hectares of various fruit trees, producing over 33,000 tonnes of fresh fruit annually. Additionally, 961 hectares of crops have been certified as safe under VietGAP standards, with 25 growing area codes for mango, longan, and banana for export, covering 633 hectares. Muong La has also developed 14 OCOP products, rated three stars or higher.

Green agriculture production is proving to be highly effective. Muong La continues to expand its organic rice cultivation models, supports the development of agricultural production under value chains, and promotes the cultivation of valuable medicinal herbs. The district is also diversifying livelihoods, supporting start-ups, and attracting investment. A key focus is to improve the quality of agricultural products through programmes that support the development of OCOP (One Commune Once Product) products, and boost production under VietGAP standards and traceability of product origins.
