Organised by the provincial Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, the event drew 129 athletes from 10 teams, including Son La city and the districts of Mai Son, Muong La, Quynh Nhai, Moc Chau, Song Ma, and Phu Yen, Tay Bac University, Son La College, and the provincial Department of Public Security.
Competitors are divided into six age categories: under 14, 15-17, 18-35, 36-45, 46-55, and over 55. The athletes under 55 will compete in men’s singles, women’s singles, and men’s doubles, while those over 55 in men’s singles only.

A leader of the provincial Centre for Sports Training and Competition presents flags to representatives of participating teams.
The annual event provides a valuable platform for the athletes to compete, interact, and horn their skills, thus promoting the sport across the province. This year’s event will run until November 16.

Athletes compete in men's singles.
