Over 1,000 athletes participate in 2025 Olympic Run for Public Health

The People's Committee of Thuan Chau district organised the 2025 Olympic Run for Public Health in Phong Lai commune on March 22. The event was held in celebration of the 79th anniversary of Vietnam Sports Day (March 27, 1946 –2025) and the 94th anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (March 26, 1931 – 2025).

The event saw the participation of over 1,000 athletes from departments, agencies, districts, and Son La city, as well as armed forces, organisations, businesses, and communes, and Thuan Chau town within the district.

The athletes competed in three groups. The first comprised the collectives of Standing Board of the Party Committee, the People’s Council, the People’s Committee of Thuan Chau district, along with leaders of communes, Thuan Chau town, and schools in the district. The second consisted of male and female runners from agencies, units, commune and town People’s Committees, and schools. The third featured male and female athletes from sports clubs and independent runners.

This year’s race took place in favourable weather conditions. The athletes competed in the 5,000m and 6,500m distances along scenic routes winding through vast, lush green tea hills. The enthusiastic cheers and encouragement from local residents and tourists along the racecourse provided the athletes with extra motivation and determination to reach the finish line.

This year's race takes place in favourable weather conditions.

At the end of the race, the organisers awarded six first, 12 second, and 18 third prizes. They also presented awards to the oldest and youngest runners participating in the event.
