Running race in Cat Linh hamlet lures nearly 800 participants

A running race themed “The Colours of Wild Cherry Blossoms” was held in Cat Linh hamlet, Muong La commune, attracting nearly 800 runners from agencies, units, businesses, schools, and sports clubs across the province.

A challenging race route.

Runners competed in men’s and women’s categories, divided into two age groups - from 14 to 45 years old and from 46 years old and above, over a distance of 5 kilometres. The race route featured many dirt roads, slopes, and winding sections, starting from Curve No. 1 in Hua Chien hamlet, passing the Hua Chien hamlet cultural house, winding along forests and cultivated fields of local residents, and finishing in Cat Linh hamlet.

At the end of the race, the Organising Committee awarded four first, eight second, 12 third, and 64 consolation prizes to winners in the men’s and women’s categories by age group. Special prizes were also presented to the oldest male and female runners.

The running race was organised to promote the image of ‘to day’ (wild cherry blossom) - a signature flower of the highland Cat Linh hamlet, Muong La commune, contributing to the development of eco-tourism and community-based tourism, while also spreading the physical training and sports movement and improving public health.
