The 7th Asian Pencak Silat Championship was held in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), from November 8-13 with the participation of more than 500 athletes from 18 countries and territories in the continent.

The Vietnamese team comprises 34 officials, coaches, and athletes, of whom the 23 artists are highly valued for their expertise and experience in tanding (combat) for both men and women. Among them, Son La province sent two who had won many high achievements at world, regional and national tournaments.

After many days of competition, Quang Thi Thu Nghia won the gold medal in the women’s tanding 70-75kg category, while Ca Thi Minh got the gold medal in the women's tanding 75-80kg event, contributing to the team’s achievements with eight gold, three silver and nine bronze medals, ranking second at the tournament.
