Son La health sector hosts inaugural pickleball tournament

The Son La Department of Health held its inaugural pickleball tournament on June 28–29, in response to the national campaign “All People Exercise Following the Great Example of Uncle Ho” and to celebrate the successful 22nd Party Congress of the department for the 2025–2030 term.

The tournament attracted 112 doubles teams from 24 units under the provincial health sector, competing in men’s, women’s, and mixed doubles. Matches were organised by age group - above and below 41 years - using a round-robin format, with top teams advancing to the semifinals and finals. Across 163 matches, athletes showcased passion, integrity, and teamwork, delivering skillful, high-intensity rallies that captivated and energised the crowd.

Organisers present first, second, and third prizes to the top mixed doubles teams in the under-41 age group.

At the close of the tournament, organisers awarded six first, six second, and 12 third prizes to the top-performing teams.
