The event has drawn more than 350 athletes from 17 delegations representing communes, wards and Tay Bac University. Competitors are contesting 45 events for men, women and mixed teams in traditional disciplines including tug of war, stick pushing, crossbow shooting, tung con (throwing the ball through the circle), stilt walking, tu lu and to ma le.

The tournament runs from March 6 to 8. Stick pushing, tug of war, tung con, stilt walking, tu lu and to ma le events are being held at the Northwest Square, while crossbow shooting competitions take place at the provincial Cultural and Sports Centre.
Athletes compete in the mixed men’s and women’s tug-of-war event.
The tournament aims to create a platform for athletes across the province to exchange and learn from one another, while promoting mass participation in sports and physical exercise, improving public health and preserving and promoting traditional cultural and sporting values.
