Son La provincial Traditional Student Athletics Competition 2025 held

The provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism coordinated with the provincial Department of Education and Training to open the Son La provincial Traditional Student Athletics Competition 2025 on April 2.

The organising board presents flags to participating delegations.

The tournament draws the participation of 458 athletes, aged 12 to 18, from 49 secondary and high schools; and the Divisions of Education and Training of 10 districts, Moc Chau township and Son La city. From April 2 to 6, secondary school athletes will compete in 22 male and female events in the following sports: running (distances of 60m, 600m, 800m, 1,500m), high jump, long jump, and ball throwing, while high school athletes will compete in 17 events for men and women in running (distances of 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1,500m and men's 3,000m), high jump, long jump, and weightlifting.

After the opening ceremony, athletes competed in weightlifting (high school) and ball throwing (secondary school).

The competition aims to maintain and promote the movement "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho", enhance the movement of physical training and sports to improve physical strength, and discover talented athletes for high-performance training for the province.
