Son La wins nine medals at National Tug of War Championship 2026

Athletes from Son La province won a total of nine medals at the National Tug of War Championship 2026, which took place at the Gymnasium of the Lai Chau provincial Federation of Labour from April 3 to 10.

The tournament brought together 450 athletes from 15 provinces and cities nationwide. They vied for medals in 18 indoor and 18 outdoor weight categories, covering men’s, women’s, and mixed events.

Delegations attend the championship.

The Son La delegation fielded 22 athletes competing in 12 indoor and outdoor events, securing one gold, two silver, and six bronze medals.

The National Tug of War Championship 2026 aims to provide a healthy sporting platform, encourage and promote the practice of tug of war among the public, especially youth, and contribute to preserving and promoting the cultural traditions of ethnic communities.
