Special programme launched in support of disadvantaged patients

A special programme named “zero-dong booths” was held at the provincial General Hospital on December 28 to support patients in difficult circumstances.

The programme was the joint effort by the hospital, Truc Lam Hung Quoc Son La Pagoda, the provincial Red Cross Society, youth and women’s union of the province’s public security force, other associations and clubs, and donors.

The programme featured 15 such booths offering milk, confectionery, personal items, clothes, footwear, medicine, chung cake, bread, tea and drinks, among others, to inpatients and their relatives.

It also provided free haircuts, and presented 20 gifts, each worth from 300,000 VND (12.37 USD) to 500,000 VND, to poor patients. Its total funding amounted to more than 90 million VND (3,710 USD).
