The People’s Committee of Son La province, in collaboration with the Embassy of India in Vietnam, organised the International Day of Yoga 2025 under the theme “Yoga for One Earth, One Health” at Moc Chau Island Tourist Area – Bach Long Glass Bridge in Moc Chau township on June 14.

The provincial Museum and Library, in collaboration with the Ba Ria – Vung Tau Museum and Library, jointly opened a thematic exhibition entitled "From Son La Prison to Con Dao Prison – Hells on Earth" at the Son La Prison Special National Historic Site on June 12.

The voluntary blood donation movement, actively implemented by the Red Cross Societies at all levels in collaboration with local agencies, units, and schools, has generated strong public engagement, with an increasing number of officials, youth union members, and young people donating blood.

A new rural road connecting Muong Bu commune, Muong La district to Chieng Sung commune, Mai Son district is under construction, with a total length of 11.9 km.

The Phu Yen district Youth Union and Nam Phong commune, in collaboration with the Co ba la (Clover) Club and An Phu Charity Club from Hanoi, organised a Children’s Day celebration for students in Nam Phong commune on May 31.

The provincial Youth Union held the launching ceremony for the Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign 2025 at the provincial Social Protection Centre No. 2 on May 29. The event gathered more than 300 youth union members from schools and armed forces across the province.

The Youth Activity Centre of Son La province on May 28-29 held the “Learning to be farmers 2025” programme in Chieng Khoi commune, Yen Chau district.

The Moc Chau tunnel brick factory, operated by Son La Building Materials JSC No. 1, has produced 9 million bricks so far this year, creating stable employment for nearly 80 workers, with an average monthly salary ranging from 7–8 million VND (275–315 USD).

In recent years, Son La province has taken various forms of support to help local workers go abroad for employment under contract. These efforts have marked a breakthrough in labor and employment, contributing significantly to improving people’s livelihoods.

The provincial Association for Promoting Education held a conference on May 27 to launch tasks for the second half of the year. The event saw the attendance of Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Cong, and leaders of several provincial departments, agencies, and sectors.

The People's Committee of Son La city on May 25 organised a training session on the application of artificial intelligence (AI) for over 170 officials, civil servants, public employees, and representatives from various local agencies and units.

The 2/9 Bo Muoi Kindergarten in Thuan Chau district held a ceremony on May 23 to receive the level 1 national standard certification and level 2 educational quality accreditation.

In the 2024–2025 academic year, Thuan Chau district has 84 educational institutions, 1,521 groups and classes, and a total of 2,706 managers, teachers, and employees.

The provincial centre for youth activities organised a forum themed “Son La children compete to follow Uncle Ho's Five Teachings” in Song Ma district, on May 19. The forum was attended by leaders of the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneer Organisation’s chapters, and nearly 500 members, teenagers and children from local primary and secondary schools.

The Study Promotion Association of the Son La High School for the Gifted on May 19 held a ceremony to commend outstanding students and teachers in the 2024–2025 school year.

Yen Chau district is currently home to around 50,000 people of working age, accounting for 60% of its population. To address employment challenges, the district has implemented a series of coordinated measures that connect vocational training with career counseling and businesses’ recruitment. These efforts aim to help workers find suitable jobs and improve their incomes.

The People's Committee of Moc Chau township on May 18 organised the first artistic dancesport and mass performance championship 2025. The event gathered over 300 athletes from 24 teams representing provinces and cities across the country.

The provincial Department of Education and Training on May 17 held a conference to officially launch the book titled "The History of Son La’s Education and Training from 1945 to 2025", as well as to inaugurate the Traditional Room of the province’s education sector.

The provincial Social Security Agency, in coordination with the provincial Post Office and authorised collection service organisations, on May 17 launched a campaign in response to the nationwide Social Insurance Month.
