The scenario was a simulated fire in the factory area. Due to delayed detection, the fire spread quickly to the production area, with the potential to spread to neighbouring areas. At the time of the fire, approximately 60 workers were on-site, and 10 victims were trapped by smoke inhalation and injuries. They were unable to move out of the fire area on their own during the firefighting and rescue operations.
The drill was carried out in four stages: mobilising local firefighting forces and on-site equipment to handle initial issues; calling in forces and equipment of the Muong La district Police and the Son La Hydroelectric Firefighting and Rescue Team; the district People's Committee calling for the engagement of forces and equipment from various agencies, businesses, and military units in the firefighting and rescue efforts; and the drill commander reporting the completion of the operations.
The drill involved nearly 200 people and 15 vehicles, including fire trucks, motorcycles, and equipment from competent agencies in the district. Thanks to modern equipment and adaptable tactics and techniques, the fire was swiftly extinguished.
The exercise met its objectives and requirements, ensuring the safety of all participating personnel.
On this occasion, the Muong La district People's Committee awarded the certificates of merit to three teams and eight individuals for their outstanding performance in the firefighting and rescue drill.
